Laurence Pangaro


IMG_0099Laurence Pangaro, viola da gamba, has been heard in rather eclectic contexts in New York performing early music with New Amsterdam Baroque and as a guest with the New York Consort of Viols.  He has performed new music accompanying Christopher Williams’ acclaimed dance compositions and playing and recording as a guest with indy-rock band Jigsaw Soul. Laurence Pangaro studied at Sarah Lawrence College before studying with Vittorio Ghielmi at Il Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. Recent collaborations have included a mixture of contemporary and ancient music with classical guitar virtuoso William Anderson as well as performing the St. Matthew Passion in London under the baton of Jonathan Rathbone.
